ROARK modern is a showroom on the sixth floor of the New York Interior Design Building located in the heart of Manhattan’s design district. We cater to top architects and designers in New York, Los Angeles, and all over the world. The showroom is owned and operated by Lisa Bowles, whose background is in Interior Design/Architecture, and provides a curated collection that spans European 18 & 19th Century into Mid-Century modern.
The light filled loft setting provides and expansive environment that is smart, sophisticated, and serene. There is a mix of styles and periods with deftly created moments and unexpected vignettes. ROARK is known for its highly stylized and well-decorated collection of design books highlighted by a dense and eclectic mix of lamps and accessories. Favoring original and finely handcrafted pieces, ROARK modern offers a wealth of decretive inspiration: hand-carved woodwork, flashes of gilt, richly patinated leathers, and lustrous textured surfaces.
Influenced by classic design from the French 30s through the Italian 70s, ROARK modern has created a line of items to compliment their antique pieces. The finishes we offer include: waxed plaster, lacquer, metallic leaf, and French polish. Materials often found at ROARK modern include: nubby linen, exotic hides, rich leathers, parchment, and cerused oak. The ROARK modern line has been created to provide a consistent product for clients, including: console tables, plaster lamps, side tables, benches and desks that fill the requirements of most interiors.
